What a Difference a Year Makes!

This is perfection, in every sense of the word!

Walker Nash Watts was born one year ago today. When I say “What a difference a year makes” I am only talking physically. He still has the sweetest disposition. He is generally a calm and observant little boy. He loves to smile. And he loves attention… from anyone! But he especially loves attention from his big brother Griff. They have a wonderful relationship that I feel will last forever. He gravitates towards balls and will toss them and chase them all day. My grandmother jokes that Walker had a part in creating the animals because it doesn’t matter what it is, he will light up and not give up until he is face to face with it.

We sure had a lot of fun celebrating the day with him.

Bonding time with Papa Great.

Really excited to try and blow out the candle.  We’ve been practicing all week.

And he tried his best.

He was a little unsure of what to do with the big sticky orange thing we put on his tray.

But Griff was quick to show him what needed to be done.

Articles of Faith

This is not the best Griff has ever recited the Articles of Faith, but it is the best that we have been able to capture on camera.

Don’t mind the “pushy mom voice” throughout… we all do it, right?!

And just because… here is a video of Walker.

Baseball and Ducks

When Griff and I got done doing our yardwork Saturday morning, he asked if we could play baseball.  I, of course, couldn’t have been happier with the request and was actually quite proud.  I have been taking him to Spring Training games or practices pretty much every week so I was glad to see it paying off.

Right in the middle of our game, two ducks came flying over our house from out of nowhere and landed on our front lawn.  Griff went over to see if they wanted to play as well.

Obviously, they did not.  Griff spent the next 20 minutes chasing them around before they finally decided they needed to move on.

But that didn’t stop Griff from having a great time.

Cox Family Reunion

We were glad that Dad had President’s Day off this year… we were able to make it to Schnepf Farms for the Cox Family Reunion.

Griff missed his nap and enjoyed every minute.

The goats, the rides

and having T-man there to sport the green matching shirt made the day that much better!

Thank you Mama Great, for a wonderful weekend. We love you!

9 Months

Walker Nash is 9 months old today. WHAT? That means in 3 short months he will be 1 year old. He is still our dream baby!

Walker is a lot more talkative than Griff was at this age. He will talk all day and try to mimic what I say.

Independent. Walker prefers to feed himself, and figure things out on his own, just like Griffin. He doesn’t look to Mom for help much anymore.

He regularly eats his portion of food and finishes off Griff’s plate too.

He also does the “hands up” dance, and I will update this post with that video soon.

Happy 9 months Walky!

Favorite Things

These are a few of my favorite things that my boys do lately.

Walker loves to stand by the windows to see outside.. and to wait for Dad to come home.

I countdown until I get to watch his little hands caress his bottle.

Look at those little dimples for knuckles…LOVE!

On our walks now, Griff insists on pushing Walker.

He takes good care of him!

After we read books at night, we leave the lamp on for Griff to fall asleep. I also look forward to going in a few hours later to turn off the light and check on my little bug in a rug.

Here and There

I guess riding a plasma car can get pretty dangerous… Griff made sure he had proper head protection for all the donuts he spins out of!

It honestly amazes me what Griff can come up with on his own. He is naturally curious and not scared to try anything… and he doesn’t want help!

It will be very interesting to see what he does as his skill levels improve!

This + This = This

Walker started getting a good “pincer grasp” a few weeks ago. Once he figured how to do it, it is his preferred method. He will eat baby food if I have something on his tray that he can feed himself with too.

Walker also doesn’t stop moving. Diaper changing and dressing have become magic tricks over here. He is trying to keep up with his brother Griffy and wants to be in on all the action.

I love this busy stage we are in!
