Yesterday marked a special day in our young marriage, our first trip to Wrigley Field together. To add to the excitement, the weather was perfect (it’s been a bit of a rough winter around these parts) and they played the hated Cardinals so Wrigleyville was bumpin. That is a combination to be reckoned with.
Unbeknownst to Molly, our day was to begin when we left our apartment at noon for the 2:40 start. Good thing we did because we ended up with two different groups of people following us to show them how to get there on the train. ‘Twas a grand sight when the train pulled up at the Addison stop.

Part of showing up so early to a Cubs game is being able to go to one of the restaurants nearby to grab a bite. Salt & Pepper Diner has become one of my go-to spots, so we went there for some French Toast, yum. After, as I was giving Molly a tour of Wrigleyville some random dude walked up to Molly and asked if he could take a picture with her because she was “the only other cool person here” because she was sporting her Mark Grace shirt.

Almost 8 hours later, as we were walking back into our apartment after partaking of possibly the best french fries in the whole entire world, a 12 inning Cubs victory, singing “Go Cubs Go”, Molly started to understand her husband just a little bit better.
