I’ll take it from here mom…

Tonight, after our normal night time routine, instead of having me carry him into his room with his blanks, Griff decided to walk on his own. There was zero fuss. I turned on the hall light and let him climb up his stool onto his big boy bed. (I think I have been keeping it dark so he doesn’t remember he can climb off the bed.) I normally hold him while we say prayers, but he put his head down on the mattress and still finished with his “Anen.” He followed up with a quick kiss and I turned off the lights. It was as simple as that.

The boy hasn’t skipped a beat moving into a new room and new bed… hopefully this is a good sign for all the changes to come!

Good to See You

Friday was a good day. Landon got home around 630 with In N Out Burger… just enough time to eat, tub Griff and put him down for the night in a big boy bed! Very bitter/sweet. I can’t believe my 15 mo old is in a bed! (That deserves a post of its own… but he has had no trouble thus far, way to go Peanut!)

After I checked on Griff a few times, Landon mentions that we should go on a bike ride the next morning. We love to ride our bikes up the canal by Hohokam Park and ride through the Mesa Cemetery. This was a fun tradition for my parents that we are trying to keep alive. I asked him if the Cubs were practicing and I received the vague answer of “possibly.” This, of course, means YES!

Saturday morning: tut tut, it smells like rain. But this is not going to stop Landon from going on the bike ride. We get going around 9, but we pass our normal turn onto the canal trail and end up at Fitch Park. That’s right folks…. my husband knows that 2 weeks of practices take place at Fitch Park. Thank goodness it is just as close and easy to get to.

In the end, I didn’t mind that we were riding in the wind and drizzle to see the beloved Cubs sit in a team meeting and stretch… Griff and I were finally with Landon, I was getting a work out, but I didn’t have to pull the bugger!

It was good to see you Landon!

It’s 9:30 pm and my husband still hasn’t returned from work… I noticed our blog has been neglected over the past few weeks, so I thought I would make a darling post to kill time. But really Griff and I have just been trying to keep ourselves occupied with fun things and avoid the nasty cold/flu epidemic going around in Mesa while dad works his night’s away.

And luckily, my baby boy Walker keeps me company after I have put Griff down. I have a feeling this newborn is going to be a night owl. Can’t wait for him to join our family!
