Taken in Grant Park, no real story here. Just really like this picture.

Written by Landon on April 11th, 2010Spring is always a great time of the year, mainly because baseball season starts. I wish I could report that the Cubs had a better start to the season than they have, but hey, there’s still 156 games to go. Maybe this is the year. And in case you’ve never been to Wrigley, you may be wondering why there is a pole in the middle of my view of the game. Yes, there are a lot of seats in Wrigley that are completely obstructed by poles. The place was built in 1914, what do you expect?

Written by Landon on April 4th, 2010One thing I’ve always found very interesting about Chicago is that it is a very “neigborhood” centered city. Every inch of the city has a neighborhood name associated with it, and one block can be the nicest place in the city and the next block looks something like this. This was taken here, as I walked to the United Center in my bright orange jacket to watch the Suns play the Bulls. If that doesn’t win some points with the family in AZ, I don’t know what will.

This is where Henry David Thoreau lived for two years and was the inspiration for his book, “Walden”. Visiting Walden Pond brought new meaning to the Conference talk by Elder L. Tom Perry we heard just a few months before visiting. You can read the talk by clicking here.
5 Months
Written by molly on March 26th, 2010Today Griff turns 5 months.
- 14 lb
- 24 1/2 in
- Rolls both ways
- Sucks his thumb (no pacifier)
- Turns himself around in a full circle on his tummy
- Slowly scoots, and puts himself on his knees
- Loves rice cereal, infant oatmeal, and sweet potatoes
- Can sit up on his own for a few seconds
- Loves books (Favorites include: Goodnight Moon, Mommy Loves, Quick as a Cricket, and The Litte Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear)
- Kicks constantly and has fast hands
- Loves music (He’ll kick faster if the song has a faster tempo, and slower if it has a slower tempo)
- Drools like a faucet
- Which leads to budding his first 2 teeth over the past 2 weeks
And, we love him!
Picture of the Week
Written by admin on March 21st, 2010I try to be cool and pretend like I know what I’m doing with a camera. I really know nothing, but I have a good time with it and Chicago is the greatest place to take some. So, I decided I would start throwing some of my favorites up each week, on top of those that we already put up of Griff.
This was taken from a hotel room right on Wacker Drive. You can see the river and the Wrigley building and the Tribune tower, two of my favorite buildings in the city.

The Park
Written by admin on March 20th, 2010It’s amazing what fun can be had when it’s not 0 degrees outside. Needless to say, Griff hasn’t experienced much of the outside world quite yet, but this week it was in the 60′s so we took him to the park just around the corner from our apartment. (Side note: Yes, it was in the 60′s yesterday but as we write this it is snowing outside, go figure). He loooooves to swing.
